City Receives Rp 238 M During Illegal Parking Raid

Jakarta Provincial Government's effort to combat illegal parking in the capital continues to be conducted. Evidently, Jakarta Transportation Department managed to collect Rp 238 million from raid and illegal parking fine since early January 2015 up to now.

Head of Supervision and Control Section, Jakarta Transportation Department, Harlem Simajuntak disclosed as many as 429 cars in five cities are towed due to illegal parking. "We managed to collect Rp 238 million and will be saved in the local treasury," he expressed, Wednesday (1/28).

He continued, various efforts have been done to prevent illegal parking, ranging from tow sanction, removing tire valve, ticketing private car, as well as public and goods transports.

Illegal Parking Beside Dharmawangsa Square Building Controlled

"In future, we will arrange parking lots and install parking meter machines in all regions," he explained.

His department urges people to switch to using public transport because its service is better than previous.

"It is time for private vehicle users to switch to public transport. Moreover, its ticket fare is cheap, such as Transjakarta bus," he finished.
